Sum Up.
A few numbers. One satisfying sum.

Sum Up is a mental maths game about choosing numbers that add up to a target. The numbers move across the board, so each round asks you to balance quick addition with good timing.

01 / The essentials

How to play Sum Up.

  1. Read the target sum at the top of the board.
  2. Select visible number tiles whose total equals the target. Watch your current sum as you choose.
  3. After a correct sum, work towards the next target. Keep an eye on moving tiles and target changes instead of relying on a combination that has already left the board.

02 / Find your rhythm

A few ways to get started.

Think in complements

For a target of 18, seeing a 7 means you need 11 more. Look for 6 and 5, or another available combination.

Make friendly numbers

Pairs that add to 10 can make a longer sum easier to calculate. Check whether the remaining amount is available before selecting the pair.

Keep the games distinct

Sum Up is about selecting numbers from a moving stream. Target gives you four fixed numbers and arithmetic operators to build an exact calculation.

A few useful answers.

Does classic Sum Up use multiplication?

Classic Sum Up is an addition game. Other arithmetic challenges are separate modes or games; try Target for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Is this a maths assessment?

No. It is a game for practising quick addition and enjoying number puzzles, not a formal assessment or a measured learning programme.
